The ability to build a simple shippable binary is one of the biggest things I love about developing for MacOS. It might just have become possible to actually ship binaries for linux as well.

A deeply annoying ubuntu bug (for me, anyway) which is stopping me playing with gtkmozembed under python. The Perl bindings also seem to suffer, although the Ruby bindings are ok, so I’m toying with them at the moment.

I’m transcoding video into PSP format, for which I need certain codecs compiled into ffmpeg, and the default ubuntu one doesn’t ship them. It’s a really easy process, though.
