UK Playstation Store

The UK Playstation Store is now live. You can buy games and download them to your PSP. Win! And it’s available in the UK. Win again!
Except that, unlike the <i>other</i> PSP download store (eh? Two stores?), which also seemed like it would soon let me buy games to download, this one requires me to install Windows-only software before I can do anything with it. And it doesn’t tell me this fact, no. It just downloads random ‘.xpd’ files to my computer without giving me any clues. The other store uses Java, and works perfectly on both MacOS and linux. (linux! The Java applet let me download content straight from the web page to my PSP under linux. Impressive..)
Going to chalk this one up as a ‘Fail’.

serve an itunes music database as an RSS feed. The PSP is a scary example of ‘give an inch, they’ll abuse it to stream music to their stereos wirelessly’ - even the incredibly limited open capabilities Sony have given the device are used for clever stuff.
